Some of you might have seen an ad on FurAffinity saying that Iggy needs help getting a new kidney. A few days ago, I donated my kidney so he could get one. It just made sense that it should be me. I'm young and healthy. I have vacation time to spare and not much tying my schedule down. Among the people who saw the ad, I doubt many of them would have an easier time donating a kidney than me.

So I had to fill out a bunch of paperwork and get my blood drawn a lot. I had to visit Michigan for a bunch of checkups at some point. I really hate IVs, but that's a small price to pay to help someone not die. At least I got to visit Iggy in person. He's really nice. He does a lot of stuff for conventions.
After a few months of tests and corresponding with the hospital. It seems like other hopeful donors had been disqualified. And the paired donor program found a match with me. So I got hooked up with some financial assistance and another trip to Michigan was arranged.

I just got the kidney taken out last week. I certainly am sore after going through the surgery. I never realized how much we used our abs. They had to cut through those to pull the kidney out. I'm taking it easy and dong well. And I think I'm past the worst of it. I've got a friend staying with me in the motel helping to take care of me.
