☀ Water World 2015 ☀
๑ What : An organized furry outing to Water World! Bring your flippy-floppies and get your splishy-splashy on~ Furs of all ages welcome! This event is hosted by
Pouchmonster
๑ Where : Water World Denver ;; 8801 N. Pecos St. Federal Heights, CO 80260
๑ When : Friday, June 19th! Park is open 10am - 6pm, weather permitting.
๑ Cost : Adult admissions (anyone taller than 48") are $41 at the gate, but there are numerous ways to discount admission. Some ways to save :
- Certain Subways currently have coupons running good for $10 off admission
- Bring a can of non-perishable food for donation and receive $8 off
- Bring an empty can of Mountain Dew for $10 off at the gate
Those that want to purchase their tickets ahead of time can also buy them at King Soopers for $5 off gate price
More info is available here : http://www.waterworldcolorado.com/p.....promotions.cfm
❀ Schedule ❀
9:30 am - We'll start gathering and arriving outside the entrance of Water World. This will give everyone time to congregate and socialize before entering. I'll have a small sign with a paw on it so folks know where to huddle.
9:45/50am - We'll head toward the turnstiles and get in line for our tickets (Those that haven't already preordered theirs)
10:00am - Park opens! We can change, get lockers and belongings situated, and stake out pool chairs for a base camp.
12:00pm (noon) - Lunchtime! Meet back at the front entrance for a group picnic
6:00pm - Park closes
✦ What to Bring ✦
- Towel(s)
- Change of dry clothes
- SUNSCREEN. You'll need it, SPF 50+. Be smart - apply before entering, at lunch, and once more during the day. Sunscreen wears off in the water and no one wants to end the day with a bad sunburn!
- Lunch and snacks
- Money for tickets/lockers/souveneirs/etc.
- Water bottle
- Flip flops or watershoes (Optional, but the concrete can get pretty dang hot)
☂ What to Know ☂
○ Food / Lunch ○
Outside food and beverage is permitted within the park. We encourage everyone bring lunch, or at least water and snacks to keep themselves going. We'll be meeting at around noon! If anyone wants to pitch in, there's also a little Caesars just north of the park and we could have a poolside pizza party :3 Alternatively, food is also available for purchase in the park. They even offer an all-day, all-you-can-eat-buffet for $15 a person (Pharoah's Feast). Whatever floats your boat!
○ Lockers ○
Lockers are available throughout the park. There are two types - single-use and all-day. Single use lockers are $1 each time they're opened, all-day lockers are $8 and can be used repeatedly. Depending if we wanna bunk up, the $8 might be a good deal to split. We highly recommend getting a locker of some kind, as we'll be in the park for eight hours and running back and forth from the turnstiles to a car can get tiresome!
○ Tube Valet Passes aka the fast pass argument ○
On the topic of bunking up, Water World offers a pass called the Tube Valet. Instead of waiting at the bottom of the intertube queue, a small group (5 - 6 furs, or however many can fit in a family tube) skips ahead to the actual ride line with a tube reserved. They're a bit pricey at $50 a band, but only one band needs to be present for the whole group to ride. Might be something to consider? It significantly cuts down time spent in line.
○ Fursuits / Tails / the Obvious ○
Costume pieces like fursuits, tails and such are heavily discouraged on this trip. Not that we don't love them, but chlorine and fur just doesn't mix. :P Feel free to wear a laminated, waterproof badge if you so choose, but make sure it's secure to your swimwear.
○ Rain, rain, go away ○
In the awful event that our day gets cut short by rain or acclimate weather, the park will reimburse our tickets for at least half-day passes to be used at a future date.
