Rye is my spirit grain and i love barley deeply. Expect various fanart of grains because grains are perfection. I live in Wales so i should like oats and stuff like that but mehhh barley is my favourite grain because of its texture lol (don't expect the mushiness of rice or the crunch/crumble of lentils, it's more of a gummy kind of grain ๐)
I have several grain OCs and a Tesco werewolf and an M&S foods grain-nibbling mouse. I love Tesco though because the big shops have a Polish section so i can get some of the fancy Kucharek seasoning (to flavour barley for my barley and red lentils with onion staple) and plenty of barley for soups!
I'm good at writing when i want to be but bad at drawing so as punishment for its mistreatment of my time and effort i draw and sketch stuff i find online so it has to get acquanited with me!!
I like sewing and i've been experimenting with fursuit stuff with a roommate who assists with sewing - see the tail!

Soup is brilliant for lunch because if you engineer it to be nutritonally complete (a bit of chicken and lentils for protein, frozen veg for micronutrients, potatoes and grains for carbohydrates and fiber, and even a bit of oil after sauteeing!) it can be like homemade huel and you can leave an impression on your roommates with a "soup drawer" in the freezer filled with tupperware boxes of pre-cooked soups! Just put it in a bowl and microwave it and you'll be quite fine!!

Grains! (G)
Barley is good for satiety and economy, lentils for protein, bulgur and buckwheat for breakfasts (with oil and seasoning), and quinoa is pretentious. Oats are boring.
Rice is a bitchy piece of shit who only wants to infect you because it DOES NOT want reheating.... Do not do rice i made lovely fried rice but it stank of dog after only TWO DAYS in a FRIDGE.
Rye is my spirit grain because it was originally disliked and a weed but now has become an important and celebrated part of varied diets because it figured out how to make itself useful!
grains have saved my wallet and you should learn them too they're the best
And then there's wheat which is ok for flours and for some grain spirits and drinks, i guess...? Whiskey can be made from barley if you take care to malt it so the starches become more sugary! I've been doing some home ferments and honey makes a very floral and nice drink and sugar makes what's best described as "yeast soda with a punch". Be careful because whiskey tastes like floor varnish!!! Vodka is just alcohol so it's to-the-point and succinct. That's valuable!
DO NOT tell my landlord that i have about 7 old Dawtona soured gherkin jars containing cucumbers in a 4% brine because they will NOT understand because nobody here understands fermentation :((.
I'm not sure if you can cook rye and eat it alone because i haven't seen it offered at the he-wolf Tesco superstore here :( but i'd love to and then it'd mean i can save my rye bread for some good kvass lmao.
