Laurund is not Stelard's character, even if she allowed me to use it to name on of my pets.
Same for Tora who is not Tora (the artist or her own character).

Been quite long since I made a new journal. It may not be the best event to do one, but I have some reasons to write all the following.

Today, I had to take a very tough decision concerning one of my pets. Laurund has always done her best through her short life to stay there, never whining about anything and to simply living with any other rats in the cage.
Today, I had to buy her some "no return flight ticket" to let her rejoin Lovelle, Megumi, Ryoko, Dusky and Tora, who hopefully have everything ready for her arrival (well, maybe not, though I like to imagine they are all together now and not having any health nor physical troubles anymore ... as stupid as it may sound, I know).

Laurund has always been very lively, with lots of energy. That's how I want to remember her.
She was the oldest and also the biggest from the very start.

So, if I'm writing all this it is mainly because she had some surgeries done to remove her tumors during last year. Through 2015, she had like 4 surgeries and underwent them all very nicely, even the one after which she removed her stiches by herself ... and I had to help her wound recovering from that.
She has never bitten me or anybody. She has never screamed for free, in fact I am not even sure if she ever did once.
For some of her surgeries, I had to try to call for help because they were very expensive. I got lots of help and I'm sure that it also helped her being able to live this long.
As a sign of respect and of appreciation for anybody who helped me at the time, I think it's all normal that I let them know what has happened to her.
She was about to reach her 3 years old (which is really a lot for a rat). Without all you people ... she would have probably not lived this long.

As sad as it can be, I'm also a tiny bit happy that she's free from all her troubles. I had tons of great times with her. I miss her badly right now, and will for long, probably forever. Just the same than with Lovelle, Megumi, Ryoko, Dusky and Tora before Laurund.
They may be only pets, or even just rats ... they were MY pets, MY rats. And I'll love them forever through memories.

And now, it's time to make some more with Shine, Kazan, Kedja, Tsukasa and Kane, as there won't ever be too many, even more like never enough.
