Writing again
Well I am back again! Been a while since I have been able to find the time to write but with the end of the Spring Semester and a lul in my military obligations I have resumed working on a stand alone book called illusions. Unlike other works I have posted online, I will not be providing this one for free. There are a few reasons for this but the main one is the chance to make money.
I have lost 2 possible publishing deals because my popular trilogy was posted online in rough form.
Also while I enjoy writing as much as I do reading, there is a lot of work that goes into writing books. This includes research, editing, and revisions. To give everyone a look at the estimated time spent on one book I have posted below an estimation.
Based on my book "A Kitsune's Tail":
Average Times per chapter:
8-12 hours research
Writing approximately 1 Week
1st Edit (spelling) Approximately 1 week
2nd edit (Grammar) Approximately 1 week
3rd edit (plot / character consistency) Approximately 2 weeks.
Every character's grammar, mannerisms, and culture must be critically evaluated for consistency, accuracy, and built on a plausible system in order to allow the reader to empathize and connect with them. Little discrepancies; even small ones, can ruin the reading experience.
I hope you all understand. Just to give everyone an idea of the genre of my current work I have prepared a glimpse into one of the chapters.
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Fiction
Title: Illusions
Kyra cautiously touched the flame with her fingers before sticking her entire hand inside the fire. "Hey! That is cool." She pulled her hand out studying how the fire acted. It appeared to pass through her hand as if it was not there. It danced and flickered like a mini campfire on a still night but she felt nothing. It might never have existed if she had not seen it.
"Please place your hand back in," Frank instructed in the same tone. This time; instead of passing through the fire harmlessly, she snatched it back with a hiss of pain. Frank only smiled as he closed his hand extinguishing the tiny fire. "Can you tell me which was real or illusion?"
"The first time was an illusion," she said around the burnt fingers she was nursing.
He shook his head. "They were both an illusion. The difference is that I tricked you into believing that it was real when you tried to put your hand back in. That was the first lesson I ever learned."

On Sunday I\'ll be making another pile of blank subs (then stuff \'em with text).
Novel is 80K words. Subs needed: 47.
Better warn people this time; 47 subs is a lot.
Need to make some blank subs. Then load \'em.
Pls nuke when they pop up on the New Subs page. Beg pardon.
(Going for some polite this time, let you know first.)
Need some test bunnies to pound on it.
Details are in Journal here.
