Moment vs State
When I've been drawing my last work I've understood one simple fact. I suppose all art can be divided by two types: the image of a 'state' and the image of a 'moment'.
State is something static: landscape, portrait or still life. Certainty it is good type of art. It can be very complicated and full of details. But it has one little weakness - finite time of watching it. Even if the art is full of cuteness our sight will be reach the satiation. We can take a break and return with a fresh sight one day, but will be satiated again.
Other side is the image of the moment of life, some frozen action. It is very interesting! When we are looking at this art our mind tries to imagine that situation and its future and past. It's an amazing feeling of process like reading the book or watching the movie! An if there is a lot of details and precise capture of the moment we could watching infinitely on it. Today we are imaging what happening, tomorrow we will know mode of life of characters with a lot of details. Some time later we even can find something new or maybe can imagine absolutely other story.
In this way graphic art is such interesting as stories. It is fantastic fact! And unfortunately I've got just a few works with a capture of moment yet. Now when I understood that fact I necessarily will draw more and more living artwork! =)
