Morenatsu was the very first visual novel game I played, probably the first one that many of us played in fact, so I'm always a little bummed out when I hear how it has been treated ever since the developers abandoned it back in 2013 or so. All these "revival" groups popping up and dying away one after the other and never really making much progress, and the game became nearly impossible to play in its original state.

Fortunately in 2018 ~rtlstien gave us a complete Ren'py port of the game so that Western fans wouldn't have to jump through hoops any longer to enjoy it. Then in 2019 an anonymous fan decided to take matters into their own hands and finally released a stand-alone, unofficial Torahiko Route visual novel.

With that in mind, Morenatsu really has two problems:
1. Morenatsu's original story and its English translation have never been the best. There are a lot of Engrish moments and odd writing, saved by the amazing characters and fun art.
2. Torahiko, the main route, was never officially finished and had never even been "unofficially" finished until last year.

The solutions:
1. A complete rewrite of Morenatsu's story to provide an improved English localization.
2. Translate the unofficial Torahiko route (which is quite good) into English
3. Combine the two to make the perfect version of Morenatsu

So, with all that said, I am excited to share the beginning of two separate projects that will eventually merge into one - Morenatsu: Rewritten and Morenatsu: Torahiko's Route English (AKA Morenatsu: Torahiko Edition). I don't know how many people are still interested in this game, but I'm mostly interested in doing this for personal reasons anyway. Hopefully those few fans still playing it every once in a while will be able to benefit from and enjoy this!
Update: Morenatsu: Torahiko's Route English is now just a part of Morenatsu: Rewritten. Hooray!
