So many troubles, so little patience. I feel the need, that intense primordial beckoning felt in the mind, in the stomach, in the heart itself!, to soak my hands in the blood of any who have dared to wrong me. Who am I to resist? Am I somehow better than my ancestors, Celt, Nord , Frank, Goth and Roman? That I need to stifle this urge for vengeance? But alas, I am Homo Sapiens, the superior in mind as to my predecessors. Were I to submit, to give in to instinct, to urge, to sheer biological pressure, I would surely perish. Locked away with murderers, with thugs and miscreants, to suffer their draconian laws and judgments because I am an animal as surely as a bear or jackal or wolf. Because I am wronged and cannot lash out. Because I am wounded and cannot attack the sources of my grievous , soul deep injury.
Because, after all, I am man. And I must obey man's law. If I do not, what better am I than the simpleton cattle that stocks my nightly plate? Or mayhap the wolves whom would seek to prey upon the cattle? I cannot but surrender, and take upon myself the conduct of man. I must act with reason and temperance, that I may weather this temporary storm however painful, however offensive to my spirit, however stifling of my basest needs. No, a man I am, and as a man I must act. Vengeance, again, is slipped through my fingers.
But be warned, for one day this world will change, and men like me, or those who would use those like me, shall let loose their wrath upon the scattered nations of this Earth, and the rivers shall run red! Like my brethren, the beast, the untamed, I shall come forth with a primeval call, to chill the marrow of bones of men and feast upon their bodies until I am sated.
Beware, ye of civilized man, you Homo Sapiens! For a new call shall be heard. The call of our most ancient mothers, our most forgotten fathers.
The call of the wild.
The call for blood.
The call of REGRESSION!
