Just read about the situation concerning the banning of Mature Cub. I'll keep my account here open but semi-retired. I don't know if they'll consider my Happy Tree Friends fanart to be cub, since the ages of the characters are left ambiguous even in the show, but I think someone will eventually. If you would like to see my new work, you can find me at Inkbunny.

While I understand that it wasn't entirely up to the administration to ban cub, it didn't exactly inspire confidence that there were so many people saying "About time!" and "Good riddance!" in so many words. I happen to dislike a great many fetishes myself, and while I'll admit I probably wouldn't move to a new site if something I didn't like was banned, I wouldn't exactly greet it with enthusiasm. Furaffinity's greatest strength is it's diversity, that it is a melting pot of fetishes, fandoms, and artistic interests. By cutting out this fetish they've diminished as a whole.
While you may be fine with them just cutting cub, keep in mind that the criteria for what is and isn't cub is pretty subjective as are most things which exist purely in imagination. There's the instance of character's being explicitly underage that they're going to remove. Sure, that's the easy part. But, they've mentioned they'll allow chibified characters who are adult and just look young. How are they going to distinguish? Does every female chibi need visible breasts, and every male chibi need bulging muscles and a beard? Or are they going to base it solely on behavior, so that adult characters that look ambiguously aged cannot participate in sexual activity while doing anything remotely childish? What if the character is just pretending to be underaged, and you regularly see them drinking legally, or driving a car? Can they look cubby then? Or do they still need a mustache or a huge rack? They're cracking down on something where any definition they add will either create a loophole, crack down on something which isn't strictly banned, or appear arbitrary based on mood and inclination. All this stems from the reality. It is a judgment based on the nonexistent age of fictional characters. Characters who are drawn by a variety of artists, all with their own personal criteria of how to depict a specific age. Mathematicians have died over more clearly defined perimeters. In essence, artists are not just being told what they can't draw, they're being told how they can't draw. I hope you're happy with your new can of worms, FA.
