Ipequey was once a grey/white anthro wolf, with a lycanthropic secret that forced him to drift about. Earning money where he could, he often volunteered for drug testing to make fast, discrete money. After one such test, he regained consciousness to find that his own organic features had been replaced with vinyl nano-machines, leaving his body colored blue & white, as well as hollow but with the added ability to change shape, size and repair itself.
He's a loner and generally tries to distance himself from others as most people tend to look at a living wolf shaped "pool toy" oddly. That is, until he found furry. Embraced by a community of others with similar afflictions, he was able to blend in with other pool toy furs and resume a some-what "normal" life. I say some-what, because his lycanthropy still haunts him; his nano-machine body reacts to the "mental tuning" of what his brain tells to the body to become. This works both ways though. Ipequey does not have to wait until full moons to change his size & shape. By focusing on what he wishes to become, the nano-machines start replicating, allowing him to grow/change as desired.
About the drug (aka, Pseudo-Science!):
The drug test that transformed him contained nano-machines engineered to bond & replace to the first mental and complex hydrocarbon components they came in contact with. It was designed with hopes the military would buy & use it on their soldiers, as the drug was capable of repairing damage & protecting the body from viral/chemical attacks (by destroying anything that wasn't in the original nano-machine assimilation). The scientists overlooked the fact that the vinyl of pill capsule was a refined petroleum product (i.e., a complex hydrocarbon chain), so the nano-machines bound to the vinyl material. When ingested, the test subject would have all biological parts destroyed by the nano-machines (as they were considered "foreign"). However, the subject's intellect would be the first the machines would encounter & bind to; this is how Ipequey came to become a sentient, vinyl creature.
