life slaps me in the face.

With a brick.

My life these last few weeks has really sucked. For no apparent reason, my mind decides to go "FML I'm depressed." There's drama at work because the number of airheads has gone up considerably. Despite all that, I had a wonderful mate to come home to and we could vent. His life wasn't perfect either. Then one of his past girlfriends came up. She was making him choose between me and her, despite knowing our relationship. Her reasoning? "It's long distance." He does something relatively smart and decides to back off from the both of us and think. This ended our relationship, but I was fine.
Or so I thought. A week later, I find out he chose her. A week. That was all it took to pick her. And now I detest the idea of committing to another long distance relationship, but the sheer lack of furs in Minot makes me think I'm going to be alone for a very long time.
Then Reese, our Dachsund-Chiuaua mix had her pups. We lost the runt, and when we took her to the vet he said there was a third, dead pup still inside her. If she didn't pass it/absorb it, Reese would go septic and die. And the vet wouldn't perform the surgery for anything less than $900. We were lucky to scrape what we could for the check-up.
Reese is fine, but I'm still depressed, if not more so than before. So for now, I'm backing off again...maybe I can get things sorted out....
