1. introduction (G)

so while i'm new to this site, i guess before i really even knew it i was interacting with furry stuff going all the way back to 2014-2015. can't believe that was 10-11 years ago at this point! i was around 13-14 at the time and i used to play this little game called geometry dash. like all the damn time. i remember my first ever exposure to anything furry related was a user uploading a level called the big black. while the level itself was mostly a hacked unplayable, spammy and not fun to play level at all, the music is what really stood out to me. it was LOUD AS HELL, fast as fuck, and my favorite part, noisy and raw. i had never heard anything like that anywhere else in my life at that point, so my first response was to save it to my phone to show to my friends and say how hilariously "bad" this song was! first time listening to it felt like my ears getting violated at a volume i wish i could listen to my music all the time to now. drums so fast and erratic, i was surprised that someone could even call this music. most people i showed it to agreed. and it stayed like that... for about a week and a half until strangely enough, i had started to change my mind about it.
now i was on the other end of the stick, where i was listening to the song on my own time and actually liking it? multiple times? for days at a time?! that song was the big black by the quick brown fox.
i liked it to the point where just listening to only this song wasn't enough. i had to listen to more of this. i looked up the quick brown fox on youtube and felt like i had unearthed gold. 15 year old me literally only consumed lapfox trax for breakfast, lunch, and mfing dinner. there was not a single day (slightly exaggerating but mostly true) that i would wake up and NOT play their music. oh, i forgot to mention, this artist is actually just ONE person with multiple aliases, with each of them having their own distinct sound and feel and made pretty much the best shit ever for teen me, thus cue the rabbit hole that I've been going down for almost a decade. all because of that one song. i'll never forget it cause it changed my life at such a young age that it's shaped me to who i am today, and that's something that I don't think could've happened with any other artist or creative individual. but i am so happy that this was my introduction to the community. even though back then i didn't feel safe to express myself the way i wanted to due to home life being really rough during that time, my own anxieties of other people perceiving me as weird which included my friends, internalized homophobia and other stuff i'll talk about on here when i feel ready when the time comes and if i actually keep myself accountable with being on here. I've been writing this out for about 4 hours now so i think now's a good place to stop. so yeah, tldr; furry music saved me and live your life as cringe as you want, cause being cringe means being free :3
