I really suck at these "describe yourself" things. Oh well, I am Jade.
I grew up all over the place, and am spending the summer between a few cities.
My camera is my tool of choice, for both still and video. I work as a pet photographer in my spare time. I also love to draw, though I don't find myself all that great. Music is my other passion, anyone that knows me can probably name my top bands but for those of you out of the know they are:
1) AFI (a Fire Inside)
2) Green Day
3) The Offspring
This list is constantly changing, I love all types of music, though I'm not a huge fan of rap or country, I will give anything a try!
Overall this kitty is Homesick, and can't wait to start working in her home city (Boston) as of June 1st! Goodbye middle-of-nowhere full of closed minded people, hello home :D
*note the closed minded people of which I speak in general refer to the population around my university, and some people that attend. It in no way means that every one from this state suffers from closed-mindedness I have some very good friends from up here that I would not change for the world, however the local population leaves much to be desired for this culture forward cat.

I've Made up my mind: future talk and such
12 years ago
As some of you may know, my trip to Hawaii was only supposed to be a week long and ended up being closer to a month and a half long. After a lot of events that happened while I was there, and a true desire to get out of the middle of frozen over snow-packed hell, I have decided to move to Hawaii.
A few of you saw this coming I am sure, others will be shocked knowing how much I longed to return to Boston, but I assure you this has come after a lot of thought.
I am a photographer. I was offered a job by a well known west coast photographer who is based out of Honolulu. Once I graduate College (in may) I will start working for this photographer. For the first 2 years (at least) I will be based out of the Honolulu studio, then the option comes up for me to move back east to a studio he is currently setting up. I am excited for this opportunity, and glad to be going into my senior year of college with the "gotta find a job" weight lifted off of my shoulders.
There is more to the move then just the job however. I went out to see a friend who means the absolute world to me. We met over 4 years ago in another country and have been very close ever since. When I went out to see him, I found "home" for the first time in a long time. I fell seamlessly into a group of friends who are now like a family to me and I loved every second I was out there.
You know how for most people vacations far away are great but they reach a point that they really just want to go home? Its not that they don't like the time off, but they miss things like their own bed and not having to spend money? I never got that feeling in Hawaii. As a matter of fact, I have found myself feeling homesick on more the one occasion since I got back, for Hawaii.
This is not to say I love Boston or my friends out here any less. I still love you all, I just need this change for me. You can all come visit me out there anyway :P lol
I cannot wait to go back to Hawaii, and if everything goes right, this time next year, I will be home <3
