So, to be completely informal, "Hi, I'm Joe". I live in Franklin, NC, but I'm a film student at Full Sail University in FL, though my love of art goes a little further than just the celluloid frame. I want to write and direct my films, but the only real professional experience I've had (other than at school) is story board work for short films and music videos. I had actually never really understood the term "furry" until recently, when I hooked up with the girl who introduced me to this site. It's pretty kick-ass, and I plan to continue using it, but I'm still a little fuzzy on a few things (dammit, fuck puns), such as: what's acceptable and what's too edgy? Is it better to stick to the traditionally anthropomorphic subject matter, or should I continue to render some of the most outlandish creatures that I can think of? Should I try my hand at selling a few pieces, and what sells best? I don't know, but I need a real reason to start drawing again. Plus, this could really help me come up with some spare change to live on while desperate and in college.
Damn, I just wanna make a movie. Like, it actually bothers me, and makes me feel so idle, that I am not out shooting right now. See, I'm writing this monster movie about a long, desolate stretch of road called Darwin, and on it there is a dangerous, wild creature (concept pictured on my page). I've already cast most of the actors, and the screenplay is about 3/4 written, but the problem that I've run into is just getting enough motivated people together who want to share in the making of the flick. I've conquered nearly every other obstacle, such as: the fact that I'll be shooting at night on video, and the excruciating fact that I've had minimal support in this thing. However, I'm already doing as much as I can on my own and with the help of a couple of close friends, but I want to go into the next decade with a good, tight, competitive production crew. That's all, just a competitive edge so that the films get seen. I guess we'll see.
