auction site updates (G)
https://artofjonfreeman.com/Dopts.html
Going forward, there's going to be a shift in the type of updates, and these shifts are to address issues I have found ... and also are honestly "in name only" for the most part (bear that in mind).
Firstly, I'll be moving almost exclusively to "auction only" rather than the former dopt-set release format. This is primarily to reduce the backend paperwork hassles that came with it, and also a risk-mitigation factor. It also means that it 95% removes the bitter dissappointment of "of course the one I wanted was sniped." It will still happen, just not as frequently.
To be clear, however, the fun appeal of "dopt sets" are ... sorta still present. No, they won't all be released in a single bundle of hype and joy. Yes, you will see 6 auction-dopts following a similar vague theme come out (they'll just be tossed into a random tumbler and spit out over time). This is also to avoid some of the backlash I've received from negative-nancys of like "MYEEHHHH, you just do this type of dopt I don't like (despite it selling very well). Do this thing that I like and so obviously everyone else likes too;" as the semi-random distribution of dopts will prevent that type of burnout.
Anyhoo, there are a couple changes. First (most important) is that the $5 gremlin discount will apply to the auction (after declaring winner); which is in addition to the ability to use credit to pay for auctions.
2nd: auctions now come with a complimentary re-color (flats). This is to help those who want an auction, but wanted to change the colors to fit their story (for example, wanting a 40k Ultramarine be changed to Salamaner via paint scheme).
3rd, the auctions will now last 4-5 days instead of 2-3. I've noticed quite a few of you visit the page abut that often (4-5 days), so this should give the majority of folks a better shot at this.
And lastly, the starting price will be lower than the old dopts, and the "skip auction" price won't be as high either.
Thanks for the attention.
