Blocking Pet Peeve
Just noticed I was blocked by someone I watch here.
I really wish people would tell others what they had done wrong before blocking them. I have no idea why I was blocked, and I guess I never will.
If someone doesn't know what they did wrong, they have no chance to change their behavior.
I pride myself in my ability to learn from my mistakes, and it *really* bothers me when I don't know what my mistake was, as I cannot learn from it.
I desperately want to ask what I did that they considered blockable (especially since I generally don't interact with anyone), but I suppose I cannot.
If you're gonna block someone, at least say why before you hit the block button. If they offended you, let them know what was offensive. They just might learn something and become a better person, rather than continue doing whatever the offensive thing was. It's sometimes hard to know what not to do if you're never told.
Silently blocking or, worse, simply saying "you know what you did" is letting something possibly toxic go ruin someone else's day, rather than letting it become a little toxic.
Of course, that's just my opinion. But it's one I believe in firmly.
