Thoughts on making a game

I've been curious about making a game using a RPG Maker program, but I'm unsure about how to go about it. I was wondering if anyone had any advice or tips on how to go about doing so. It feels like a lot to take it even with the tutorial and putting in certain commands and such seems pretty complicated....
