I'm mostly active on Blue sky Kiyara.bsky.social I keep monthly project threads and daily to-do lists to sort out my thoughts. I refer to it as my external memory.

I am still planning to move to Sweden, even if the actual immigration process is a little more complicated than just going there. First I have to get rid of almost everything I own. Some of it will be easy enough to re-home, a few things I can store at my mom's and my most valuable items will be shipped over or taken with me.

I have been making steady progress sorting out my apartment and working on my projects; the goal is to start selling DIY art doll kits based on my sculpts for people to customize.

In December, a neighbor started a fire while cooking and while the fire department was able to extinguish the fire, a pipe burst and flooded the rest of the building.

I was extremely lucky in that most of the water that got in my unit was stopped by my wall of dirty laundry. My belongings were miraculously untouched. I wouldn't have left, or even woken up if my brother hadn't called me /twice/

Unfortunately I have been displaced and while I am incredibly lucky that my building management is keeping us in a long stay hotel, I can't really get my projects done or ready for production until I move back into my apartment and we still don't even have a rough estimate for when we can move back in.

I do understand that it's a complicated question that hinges on safety inspections. Many of my neighbors lost everything (though fortunately no people or pets were harmed). The elevator should be functioning again soon which is good news for me because going up and down six floors is no mean feat. We're allowed to go into our units between 8am-4pm mon-fri and I have been doing my best to balance my needs.

I have been struggling financially with ballooning storage unit bills (the price has gone up 150% since I started renting it) but I don't have a vehicle and the facility is not on a bus route. I can't do much to sort through it anyway until I move back into my apartment and have a functional elevator.

I would really like to be able to film my process, but I haven't figured out the right technical skills or equipment yet. I have a tendency to get too wrapped up in working that I forget everything else.
