Stay Strong (G)
To any up-and coming artist:
If you're struggling with feelings of depression, if you feel like you have no worth or value, if you're sad because you aren't getting faves, comments, etc.
Stop expecting those things.
If you don't enjoy drawing, then stop drawing. If you're drawing things you don't like, start drawing things you do like.
Don't do things with the expectation of pleasing others. Do it to please yourself.
You will be a lot happier drawing for yourself than you will ever be drawing for others.
Earning internet fame takes a ton of effort. You can't just draw, you have to be your own editor, your own social engineer, your own promotional director.
Even then you have to be patient and stay active, you have to strongarm your way into the scene. Don't let yourself be discouraged by lack of interest. You -have- to kick ass if you wanna go places.
Don't let all that intimidate you either. Yes, it's not easy, but nothing in life really is. You have to fight with all your might.
My advice to all up-and-comers going through self doubt: Don't bother fighting that battle just yet. Focus on yourself. Draw what you like, do what makes you happy, don't expect or hope for people to like/fave your art. Draw because you want to. Make things that make you happy. Don't let yourself feel bad because nobody gives you a like/fave/heart/subscribe. The internet is overflowing with art these days. The algorithms are not favorable for newbies. Everything is stacked against you. Don't be the guy/girl who hopes to win the lottery. Be the guy/girl who earns their position. Don't count on others, count on yourself. You are the only person who can be you.
