PERSONAL INFO:
I was born in the NJ, USA. At the age of 3, I moved to Portugal to live with my grandmother. Thanks to her, I learned to speak Portuguese and Calão. She also taught me how to read the stars and interpret the Tarot. Due to an illness, my grandmother could not care for me anymore so I had to move back to the U.S. when I was 5. While I wanted her to come with me, the doctors advised against it and she stayed behind with family. I moved back in with my mother, but it wasn't the same. A few months before my sixth birthday, my grandmother passed away from pancreatic cancer complications. It was a trip back to Portugal where I learned that she had left me the farm that she and my grandfather had owed; the farm where she had cared for me for two years. However, according to Portuguese law, my parents were my guardians and therefore had guardianship over my property... which they promptly sold. The school years were monotonous. My elementary school years were spent in Newark, middle school in Elizabeth and high school in Woodbridge. At age 18, I graduated high school, but had no funds to go to college so found a job to save for school. Fall of that year, I received a letter from a law office in Portugal. It informed me that my grandmother left me a sealed letter and that I needed to go to Portugal to pick it up (which was impossible due to my financial situation). After several months of red tape and paperwork, the letter was arranged to arrive to the Portuguese embassy in the U.S. In February of 2001, a week before my birthday, I finally received my letter. In it, my grandmother revealed our family's past. She was a Romani and arrived with her family in Portugal when she was twelve. She met my grandfather when she was fourteen and ran away from her family to be with him. They eloped and had four children, my mother being one of them. As the years passed, my grandfather inherited the family farm and my grandmother became the family's spiritual advisor; which conflicted with the Roman Catholic influence of the land. She was ostracized from the members of the village, but never lost her resolve. She never changed. She never corrupted her ideals. She always held her head up high.
I spent a great deal talking about my grandmother because it makes up a large part of who I am. Because of her, I am able to grasp and embrace my origins, not only the noble Portuguese heritage, but also my wandering Romani roots. She is my heroine and I carry her with me everywhere I go. All my Tarot readings are done with her old Tarot deck. It is the deck where I feel I am the strongest spiritually and can therefore channel its energy best. I hope is to one day trace my roots as far back as I can and develop my family tree. I feel like it is something that would require a lot of time so I leave it as an unstarted project. That basically who I am; I carry a lot of the same traits my grandmother held. Compassion, empathy, resilience, spirituality... her passions, I have inherited.
FURSONA INFO:
Fur as white as an autumn full moon, Kurogetsu is completely white except for a crescent-shaped patch of black fur on his forehead. Because of a genetic defect, his eyes are lavender-colored. Just as pure white are a pair of wings bestoyed upon him when he accepted to follow the path of a Warrior of Light. Trained in bōjutsu and in Black Tiger Kung Fu (Hei hu quan), Kurogetsu travels the world with his trusty scythe, Tsukinikkori, and protects the innocent from injustice.
