10 long years ago, ages before I set up this account, I was on DeviantArt, a naive teenager discovering myself, and others. It didn’t take me long to find a small community of like-minded people, some of whom remain my friends to this day. But none are more dear to me than the friend I talk about today. On the internetz, they go by the username ‘TheGhoulAvenue’. She/He bigender, in case you were wondering. She is a fine digital artist and a subtly brilliant visual storyteller, with a roll call of characters we have come to intimately know and all expressions of parts of herself, and himself. She’s guided me to the world of adopt culture, which I’m not personally into but find fascinating nonetheless. She draws the finest CCCats I have seen, and has impeccable taste in indie music. I have frequently suffered depression and anxiety, and she was there for me whenever I needed a shoulder to cry on, supporting me every step of the way. She was the first person I confessed my weird little fetishes to, and she encouraged me to embrace them, as I have been through my presence on this site. She helped me come out as bisexual, which has changed my life in ways yet to be revealed. Quite frankly, I owe her the world.

She also has Mastocytosis, recently confirmed after years of misdiagnosis.

She has faced chronic fatigue, depressive episodes, intensifying allergies, and neglect from every doctor she’s met. She has to buy expensive medication just to arrest the progress of this disease, and she has completely spent her bank account in doing so. Her living situation is deteriorating, and she faces cognitive decline as a result of the aforementioned medical neglect. Her livelihood, and quite possibly her life, is under serious threat. I am currently arranging something to get her support, but it’s taking a lot of time, which for her is rapidly running out. Now more than ever, she needs some source of income to fund her treatment.
