This is a completely random journal entry, but what the heck.

I recently watched the 1995 movie Catnapped for the first time and I was very impressed. What a fun and creative movie! I went into it mostly blind aside from seeing a couple clips of Princess Buburina blowing up things and people beforehand, despite that I didn't expect so much actual ballooning. I thought maybe there was going to be a couple little inflation scenes, but I did not expect to absolutely fall in love, LOVE with how Buburina dominates her world with her ballooning powers, and uses her curse to the fullest! (Pun not intended!)

I really enjoyed the magical world the cats lived in, so colorful and really embracing that fantastical, balloon-y, carnival cat theming that was going on in the movie. It reminds a lot of the 1780's french balloonomania craze, and it all looks absolutely beautiful. Wonderful animation at that too!

I would love to do a piece or two referencing the movie in the future, it feels up my alley in what I enjoy about inflation. I need to get some other things out of the way first, but I definitely want to do a tribute at some point.~
