Bad Dragon Musings. (G)
https://beta.furrynetwork.com/post/4721/
Over a year ago I was banned from F-List for having an argument with management about a rule change. The policy didn't directly affect me; I was merely acting in defense for those who the policy change DID affect. Regardless, Dave ruled that I was guilty of "breaking the rules and encouraging others to break the rules" for not shutting up about it.
Since then, Bad Dragon has disallowed me from being part of that community. I had been on that site nearly since day one, and considered it my home. Regardless of this fact, they have refused to allow me to come back, even though I had many friends, was in charge of two large forums, in charge of a popular chat room, and had no quarrel with anyone I interacted with on a daily basis.
After a year, I appealed the ban, but Dave denied me, saying that he couldn't ensure I wouldn't "break the rule again," basically saying that if he let me on, there was no way of him ensuring I wouldn't challenge authority, even when it's a perceived injustice I spoke out against.
Since then, they have banned my alternative account from F-List, saying it was an "Alt of a banned user" as you so often see on reasons given. Considering that most of my friends were from F-List and that I had no other way of contacting or roleplaying with them, I was left with little other choice than to return. Again, I never had a quarrel with the userbase. This is purely a thing between Bad Dragon and I.
So an interesting thought just occurred to me. Currently, BD/Varka Enterprises/Dragonfruit/etc owns this site, e621, hosting for InkBunny, F-List, an MLP fandom site, and I'm sure others. With Bad Dragon owning a great majority of the furry sites, including this one, does this mean that we have a future to look forward to where if you vehemently disagree with Dave in one place, Dave will ban you from all the other places? That would be a very scary future for the fandom, indeed.
I still disagree with Dave's inflexible interpretation of policy, and I still oppose the rule change in favor of the little guy who decides to have a photo-realistic picture of a dog on their profile. Again, I state, for a company that makes animal dildos, they certainly seem to have a bitter taste for bestiality. Quite odd if you ask me. So will I be banned here for speaking out about the same issue? I could never see myself being banned from FA for speaking out about something. I guess only time will tell, hm?
