General Grump | Member Since: Jan 13, 2009 01:37Life is a river, turbulent and shifting with no definite course. It churns and moves continuously, having flowed long before we discovered it and will continue for long after.
There are stones, various and diverse as the dust in the universe. Large and small and of all different consistencies, all tumble in the vapid river until they are the silt of the abyss.
The river will froth and the stones will tumble and collide.
Some stones emerge on the riverbank, polished and shimmering.
Some stones dissolve into nothing, little more than a cloud of dust forgotten with time.
Some stones do nothing but tumble, unnoticed as they travel through the others.
Some stones combine to become large clusters, altering the river's flow and changing the paths of other stones.
Some stones appear to crumble, only to reveal a rare diamond that shimmers through the water's surface.
At times, a stranger's hand will throw a stone. Sometimes it flies across the river's surface. Sometimes it sinks to where the river no longer carries it.
As stones, they cannot alter their course in the river. They accept their fate without thought or consideration or opinion.
And though the similarities are there, be they literal or figurative...
We are not stones.

- By any classification you are called, I respect you.From a long, elaborate story to some simpler text, something about drama and how I don't tolerate it, that opinion still stands. Everyone, everyone has something unpleasant going on in their life. That's why it's called life and not vacation. Some people have it worse than others, and some people just like to think they've got it bad. Tuck your pride (which everyone these days pridefully admits they don't have), travel out of your own pocket, and get a good taste of honesty. Show a little empathy and get your hands dirty alongside someone before you say you have problems. We all do. It's also up to us and those who actually love us to say "no," get uncomfortable and sometimes hurt, and work to make it better. I have literally never met a person who, when asked if they have any problems or regrets, has responded with an honest "nope." People don't choose to have poor health, or physical malformations, or any of the myriad mental problems I see are so prevalent in this or any community (myself included with some). It's not cool to have these problems. It hurts. Sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. But sometimes, instead of saying "I need help" to everyone you meet, you have to look in the mirror and say "I'm getting help." You're not going to be carried over the finish line, because there is no finish line. The help will not work until you want it to...
And then you have the fake motherfuckers who give us all a black eye and deserve to be smacked upside the head with whatever Oscar Award they were aiming for with their shit. Or the people who go "here, friend, I will be the hero!" and they toss a few bucks at some fundraiser site or begrudgingly have a conversation with an afflicted person and not actually get anywhere with them. People like that... I hate people like that as much as I hate the people faking or exaggerating their problems.

New Computer
2 years agoSo, I got a new computer... Excuse me while I work my way through a graduation from dinosaur to space ship. That being said, I have... ZERO programs. None. Well, I have Secondlife and Discord, but those aren't going to help me make art or finish stories and such. I mean, I COULD type up the rest of Ghost Makers on SL notecards, but that would be ugly af, so no.
So yeah, my to-get list is simple: Photoshop, Blender, and now my fucking Undertale shortcut has died, so I am beyond sad about that one there...
Otherwise, I'm okay. Still alive, haven't been shot yet, just about to give up on getting a fursuit, and hey, rainbow sprinkles are fucking delicious. They turn your mouth a super dark purple and make your mother not want to talk to you for a while. Good shit.
So yes, I'm going to take a comment-style poll here... When I get programs back on here, what would you like to see more of?
