⚠️ SCAM ALERT: Artist Impersonation on Discord ⚠️ (G)

Hey everyone, please take a moment to read this.
It has come to my attention that there is a spear phishing scam currently targeting people in the FA community.
Several people I know have already been hit by this.
Here's how it works:
You bid on a YCH, commission slot, or adopt here on FurAffinity. Shortly after, you receive a DM on Discord from someone pretending to be the artist. They ask you to complete the transaction through Discord. You pay them, but it was never the real artist. Your money is gone.
How to protect yourself:
- Always initiate conversation with the artist through FA Notes first. Do not trust incoming Discord DMs after bidding.
- If the artist gives you their Discord through FA Notes, double and triple check the username, discriminator, and display name before sending any payment.
- If an "artist" DMs you first on Discord after you bid, treat it as suspicious by default.
- Never complete a transaction through Discord DMs unless you have verified the account through FA Notes.
If you have been targeted, please report the scammer's Discord account and warn the real artist so they know someone is impersonating them.
