Season's Greetings! I am the Mistletoe Inspector.
My job is to inspect holiday artwork to ensure that mistletoe is
accurately depicted and hasn't been confused with holly.
Your artwork is eligible for inspection if:
- It has been tagged, titled, or described with the word "mistletoe";
- It depicts a character kissing, or inviting another character to
kiss them, underneath some festive greenery.
Your artwork is not eligible for inspection if:
- It is non-festive;
- It is a YCH auction, commission opening, adoptable, or any other sales post. The Holly and Mistletoe Confusion
For years, countless media has incorrectly used holly in lieu of mistletoe.
Even search engines have fallen for holly's prickly trick and show you countless pictures
of holly when searching for mistletoe, only furthering the rampant confusion!
It's my hope to bring awareness to this common mistake by
educating people on what mistletoe actually is! This account is mostly just for fun; please do not take my pedantry too seriously or personally.

After 10 months of cryostasis, I'm back for another holiday season of mistletoe inspection.
