Teaser: The land of Equestria is far more vast than just Ponyville. It has different towns with different cultures. One such town was unlike many others; the residents here did not revel or play in the sun, but chose instead revere in the moon’s glory. Perhaps you are wondering why. Well here is a little history.
550 years ago the settlement of Fort Neighers was under attack by an enemy whose name was lost to history. The ponies fought to defend their town. An offer of refuge was given from the capital city of Canterlot, but the ponies vowed they would defend their beloved land. Despite their best efforts, they ended up losing almost all of their land, turning a lot of it into an uninhabitable plaugeland. As they fought, the ponies began to develop defensive magics, causing illusions to divert away of what land they had left. While they fought, they began to realize something, this creature only fought during the day. This convinced the ponies that the best course to live is by night. The years went by, unicorn magic began to develop ways to adapt to life at night, and slowly the flora and fauna began to learn to live by the moon, just as the ponies did. After a course of 50 years, the creature was finally defeated. However, the tradition of living under the moon was implemented. The ponies felt it what was meant to be, their eyes shone brightly under the moon’s grace. Legends say that Princess Celestia was once only the bearer of the sun, and another pony once took the moon under her control. The ponies of Ft. Neighiers believed this princess would return one day, and vowed to await her return. Centuries passed, the stories of the fabled princess of the moon remained strong. 500 years have passed since then, and due to their night dwelling nature, these “Night Watchers” had a shroud of mystery around them, and the mysteries grew into fearful rumors. Contact with the outside world had almost all but vanished. Undaunted in their beliefs, the ponies of Ft. Neighers still await the return of their princess. Their wait will soon be at an end.
This is the story of the far off and secluded town of Fort Neighers, located in Equestria on the outskirts of a treacherous land.
While these ponies of the night seem reserved and dark, perhaps what they really need is understanding and friendship. Who knows? Maybe the rumors are just silly gossip after all?
[This is an upcoming Comic project. Please watch if you're interested, outside pony OCs are subject to cameo in the project :D]

My Little Pony: Moonlit Friendship

Posting a journal to show this account WILL be active.
This is going to be a fan project, there will be character profiles, maybe a fanfic log, and eventually a full fledged comic.
And just a heads up, this will not involve any of the mane cast from Friendship is Magic. This is another town, and another story that takes place in Equestria.
