Rude behavior toward the furry fandom (G)

A couple weekends ago, I went to an anime convention called Anime Detour. My friends and I decided to go to the mall in our cosplay outfits; I was dressed up as a cat-girl. As my boyfriend and I entered a hat shop, we noticed two well-dressed men (both wearing business suits) in the back, but paid no mind. I started up a conversation with the cashier over hats with animal ears. From the back of the store, one of the business men said to the other (rather loudly) while motioning to my cat ears, "There's too much yiff in here for me. Let's bail."
The cashier and the sales woman looked at me confused and I explained it was a derogatory statement toward furries. They both looked at each other and agreed that if the two men ever tried to buy hats from them again, they wouldn't be allowed in because they were rude to other customers. I'm not even a furry, but I couldn't believe how rude people are toward the furry fandom...
