Well guys, here it is!! If you wanna help me though, read...
Here's the baffling thing. Never in my life did I think I'd be moving into this type of situation...
Before I delve further, let me explain what's been happening.
My last Journal was 7-8 months ago. Well, I've been nonstop working, I've been working 3 jobs since April.
Let's go back further...
In 2015, I took my first flight by myself... June of 2015. I'd had a horrible flight, and dealt with the crazy airport, enjoyed my 2 weeks, and then flew back. Upon flying back, I'd spoken to a flight attendant about her job, what she thought, and that she'd though I should apply, got interested in the job (again since I was now old enough) and started looking into it.
Last year, I'd taken another flight, enjoyed it all, and decided to finally apply to be a flight attendant.
I'd applied to United (my first main choice but not the ultimate one), Delta (my main choice, the ultimate one) and a few others. I'd continue applying to others. In September, my Delta application progressed further, I'd later on do a video interview, and in late October-early November, receive an offer for an in person interview with Delta Airlines. Big name, big look, big choice. I had my interview in December. It was an amazing experience, but sadly I didn't make the cut. HOWEVER, to be one of the 7500 that applied, and one of the 1200 to step foot in the room, I felt honored, especially on my first try.
I received the email 2 days later that I wasn't accepted, and was crushed. It was the fatal blow. After fussing for about 2 hours, I'd simmered down, and bucked up. I'd decided it wasn't the end, I was allowed to apply again in 6 months, and until then, I'd apply where I could.
Which brings me to this year. It's been rocky. Money, my car, etc. My time came in February to apply for United again, and their application wasn't open. It came in May to reapply for Delta, and it wasn't open yet either. I applied at my airport, and had an interview, and got put on "hold" for a "hiring freeze". I still don't know if it's true...
During all this time, I'd looked casually at Disney. I'd look and see what was open, what would be cool to do, etc. Nothing really peaked my interest too much, though I did see spots I'd be interested in. When May came around, I REALLY started watching the Delta site in hopes of reapplying, but it never came up. One day after checking Delta, I checked Disney, only to see Monorails-WDW in the list of available positions, and I was floored. I applied straight away, since I'd been wanting to get out of one of my current jobs.
It got a response within the first week for an assessment, and last month for a Web-Based interview. Upon that, I had passed and been asked to schedule a phone interview. I had it on the 28th of June. The recruiter was exceptionally nice, and insisted he was going to offer me a position!
He stated "Normally within the first 5-10 minutes we decide whether or not we offer them a position. With you, I could tell within the first 5-10 seconds." I was baffled, befuddled, shocked! He was super impressed by my responses and my attitude and energy, I'd been offered a position! FULL-TIME, IN MONORAILS!
Here we are. It's now. I'm moving to Florida in about 2 weeks, as I've been offered a Full-Time position in Monorails, and I'm stuck. I'm in shock. I'm leaving 3 jobs, and going to one, with little to no money, but a goal and lots of planning... It's crazy, I never thought I'd have secured a job at Walt Disney World in less than 2 months. Which leads me to this... am I making the right choice? Am I doing what's best for me? People snapped at me and told me not to do it... The money issue is making it more and more and more apparent that maybe I shouldn't.
I'm super excited, super pumped, but concerned about financials... I AM NOT ASKING FOR DONATIONS, however if you feel the need, my paypal is nace888@aol.com. I'm not expecting anything out of anybody, I just wanted to update y'all, give y'all a view into my crazy lifestyle recently, and announce that I was moving to Florida! :D
