Some simple advice every artist should know.

1. You only get better by doing. If you're not moving forward, what will you have to look back upon to know how far you've come?

2. Time is the ultimate critic. Regardless of how many people tell you your work is awesome or shit, the true value of your work reveals itself by how it is remembered years after it stopped being relevant.

3. Art and Business are not separate from each other, but will not always meet eye to eye. Short of outright stealing, do what you must to get done what needs to get done.

4. If you want to make money, make art fast. If you want to improve your work, take your time.

5. Don't have other people do work that you could do yourself if you want to improve.

6. Don't be like your favorite artists, seek to be better than them.

7. Don't make promises you can't keep, but don't be afraid to break them if time and circumstances won't allow you to keep them. Life goes on.

8. There's no such thing as talent. Creativity comes from imagination and skill comes from knowledge. To get knowledge, just draw. To be more imaginative, take something normal and make it abnormal. Simple as that.

9. Using unprofessional tools doesn't make you a lesser artist. Make do with what you have, and build up when you can.
