A Tale of Wall's and E's
Hey people!
*dodges shoes and stones that are thrown at him*
Eh...^^; Yeah, I'm still alive.
As of today this year is almost over for me, I mean...schoolwise.
Holidays started yesterday but as always we got assignments.
This time was a blast though. not exactly for me, but for some folks at class.
See, not long ago, we were given an assignment to take a picture of our lil town here (Schwerin) and modify that picture so it's 200 years in the future.
Simple task really, 3 parts. photograph, pencil sketch, digital touchup / coloring / shading. Yeah well some people at my class, they simply don't care about such assignments and start working on em on like the second last day. It's not a big surprise their grades are usually not phenomenal. But some people even went and used rulers for that assignment, or worse, traced the photograph. So those had their grade put down to 5 of 15 possible. Those folks ( 2/3 of my class!!)
are given the chance to improve their grade by doing 2 other assignments. Good thing I don't have to worry about that. Don't get me wrong, I suck horribly at perspective and landscapes, and still I managed to get 13 of 15 in comparison. *sigh*

"WHAT?! THAT'S 13 OF 15?! Looks more like 6 to me o_o;;;"
Is what I believe people to think because quite frankly, I find it overrated a lot myself. But I won't go and tell the teacher to lower my grade. <,<
Anyway, that's just one of the assignments. Other than that there's a characterbooklet we need to finish.
So it's the usual suspects. Turnaround, Poses, Facial expressions, a modelling sheet and some about the personality backgroundstory of the character.
I will upload some of that soon..it's all pencil and paper, though..so I'll need to get my dusty old scanner out and ready...The character is that...forest/wood warrior I had uploaded sketches of before.
And the third assignment is a script. Complete with storyboard, at very least 16 shots. So there's camera angles and movements, technical terms all over, dialogues..all that fine stuff.
lotsa work? Yep...
So that's it for our 2 weeks of christmas holidays. ^^;
Tomorrow I will be driving home with my sister and her baby (1 year old, yay) 5 hours by car (make that 7...)
Today I've been working on my commissions (at this point another BIG THANKS to my patient commissioners!)
and I guess I'm making progress again( I know, I always say that...)
Anyway at the moment I am in a complete Pixar Spree.
After having seen Wall-E, I was totally captivated.
This movie really touched my heart.
I didn't hesitate to buy the Blu-Ray special edition, the soundtrack and the artbook...and that's the first time I went and bought stuff RIGHT away.
Absolutely worth ever cent. I think I'm gonna watch it again tonight...^^
However there is something that kinda made me frown. It's certainly not true, but...the thought alone makes me cringe.
...it's horrible to destroy the innocense of this movie...

Supposedly, this is the actual ending Pixar had for Wall-E, and Disney made them change it.
I can't possibly believe anyone at pixar OR disney would ever dare write something like that. That's like Bambi finding the rotting corpse of his mother.
What do you think about that? I'm interested to hear your thoughts, please >:
Alright...back to work, I guess.
Thanks a lot for reading! ~<3
Oh, I ALMOST FORGOT!
Everyone who has commissioned me - for your long wait and patience you've had with me, I offer all of you a free sketch. Sounds good?
