yesterday on monday of november 17, 2025, a longtimer in the videogame industry rebecca heineman unfortunately lost her recent battle with aggressive cancer, and was unfairly taken from us far too soon. she was the first video game champion, put to the test with the impressive, albeit uphill battle that was developing doom for the 3do, and went on to do impressive work on many other games and ports beyond that. but above all else, she was a pioneer of the lgbtq+ community in video game circles. may she and jennell rest peacefully. 💜🕊️
