The mightiest update
4 months later~
Excuses here excuses there,
long awaited and barely active,
here's the progress.
Still going through the process of refunding, as can be kept track of in this journal.
After countless ups and downs both financially and emotionally (bla bla bla) as well as a rather annoying set back with paypal, I've successfully transferred over some more funds to be going back into the pockets of those on that list.
If you have not received a note or email from me regarding your refund, then I unfortunately haven't been able to reimburse you quite yet.
Alas, the best I can say is it's slowly being taken care of.
woe is me, I am so woe.
My humble, honest and eternal gratitude for the utmost patience,
as well as the courage to inquire about it, for those of you that have.
In other news, since I might as well include something else, Tabu is still slowly... slowly in the works. 3rd page has a lot of character stuff going on and,
le gasp,
text
Of course, its still gonna take a long time.
Overall, I'm quite tickled in the feels at how well received the comic has been, right from the start.
Hopefully you guys continue to enjoy it.
Other than working on returning the money I owe, drawing animal people in a tropical place in the form of a comic, and, just generally being kind of a disappearing act, I've considered, instead of providing pointless updates on my life and my crap, I'd like to create some kind of insightful guide to, well, working commissions.
I, pardon my french, fucked up royally
And not just with the iron artist.
However, with this crash and burn practice, I've learned many many MANY important things about the art of freelancing.
I'd like to create a series of journals that outline the fundamentals of being a successful artist specifically directed at the furry fandom, furaffinity to be particular. Everything from getting started, to exposure, proper business etiquette, appropriate terms, healthy work habits, pricing artwork, the big do's and don'ts, etc.
From the time I joined furaffinity, to this very breath, I've seen countless cases (including myself) of artists who work themselves into a pit of miserable demise or at the very least, failure. I've also seen artists who struggle, from workload to hours to terms of service.
And the most painful part of it all is that it can be avoided with just a tiny bit of knowledge and acknowledgement.
So,
Your opinion?
