In case you're curious, here's a breakdown of my most commonly recurring characters:

Rune (Canaan Dog): He's the leader of a mercenary band turned Captain of a merchant vessel. Incredibly stubborn which leads to him being a bit of a tsundere. About 5'11", and fairly built though a small frame.

Hiran (Malayan Pangolin): A bit of a jack of all trades, Hiran is often quiet... at least until he opens his mouth and starts rambling. He's a warlock who specializes in druidic magic, and has a pact with a demon-dryad named Sylvabandha. He's around 6', and has a bit of a belly despite being strong in his own right. He often takes time away from the ship to travel with his boyfriend, Fleet.

Emmett (Golden Retriever): A somewhat reserved mage. He tends to be rather analytical, even to his own deficit. he's 5'8" and rather cut and strong for a mage; This is a side effect of being involved in constant travel and battle. He's got a past with Rune and his own previous adventuring party, such as Diedre and Tolsworth, as well as his deceased wife Ava.

Wadi (Black Backed Jackal): He definitely seems the strong silent type at first, but he's actually a bit of a joker. He's around 6'4" and built like a football player. He has a light brown front while his back is a very dark brown. He's the former head of a local coliseum that runs staged fights, but decided to move on to travel after spending too much of his life in one place, leaving it in Akando's hands. He was raised by orcs, including his fathers and his brother Orazi.

Roskai (Cat, Russian Blue / Egyptian Mau mix): A former thief with a history with Wadi. He's playful and loud but rarely seems to allow anyone to know when he's taking things seriously. He's 5'5" and kind of a stick. He's a cross between a Russian Blue and a Bengal, keeping the deep blue coloring while having large spots upon his back and faint stripes on his legs.

Tara (Oni): 'Leader' of a band of (former) pirates, now First Mate. He hates authority of all kinds and is quick to anger. He's 6'8", four-armed, and fairly muscular, being the sort to constantly work on his body. He's got an on-again off-again thing with Rune, regardless of the AU. His father, Kentaro, runs an onsen that his brother Yamato works at.

Mochi (Striped Hyena): The person who actually calls the shots, albeit indirectly. Quiet and unassuming, he's usually plotting the best way to handle any situation from the sidelines. He's around 5'6", has tan and brown patterning, and a black and white mohawk that goes all the way down his back. He grew up at the Iron Palm dojo, run by a dragon named Freynar.

Silas (Armored / Bullhead Catfish hybrid): He's dry and sarcastic, and rarely seems to like anyone. For some reason he sticks around anyway, being more of a team player than he'd care to admit. Wears an amulet that lets him breathe above water. He's around 6'2", and has rather broad shoulders compared to his waist, rather cut. He's a greenish color with a white belly. He's got a large family, though most of them stay at home under the sea other than his twin brother Riley.

Jet (Badger): The group's mage, Jet is constantly cheerful and optimistic. He's only around 5'2". and is a bit overweight. His magic tends to backfire on the regular, much to his chagrin. Despite being quite talkative, he rarely mentions his past.

Mateo (Kingfisher): An well to do alchemist who's renting space upon the ship to continue his experiments after his original lab was blown to smithereens. He's constantly snarky and opinionated, unless he starts hyperfocusing on one of his experiments. He works with both enchantments and potions, trying to push forward whatever idea pops into his mind without much thought for how useful it will be.

Other Notable Characters:

Boscage: An owl enchanter who formerly worked with Shinbaku, but has now gone solo. He runs a dungeon that is designed to be challenged for fun. Adventurers can try and get through with no risk of bodily harm... but plenty of sexy punishments. He's married to Dex, who actually runs the business since Boscage is terrible with numbers. Gretzky is one of his guards, and a number of ghosts including Edgar, Daniel, Finley Bennie and Jero all work for him as well.

Ezekial Adem Moreau: A lion who's obsessed with power. He's sometimes known as Zeke or Z-K depending on the setting. Regardless of AU, he usually has Bennie, Daniel, Edgar, Finley and Jero as subordinates, though they don't always stick around.

Yeong-sun: Hiran's father, and a fallen celestial dragon. Not much is known of his past, but he vanished when Hiran was young.

Sylvabandha 'Sylv': A half-dryad, half-demon who lives in a forest just outside Hiran's home village. He's both Hiran's patron and magical tutor.

Freynar: The dragon who runs the dojo Mochi is from. Stone, Garz, Gnash, and Stripes all typically have a history with him as well.

Akando: A rhino who's Wadi's former protégé. The head of a nearby arena, where competitors are humiliated for pay. Regular participants include Dex, Gretzky, Orazi, and Talos.

Mao and Sobek: A raven and lizard pair of bandits who often end up failing at thievery.

Others:

Keltar: Exclusive to my sci-fi setting is the alien Keltar. As a Prel, he's got big arms and an even bigger butt. He's slow to notice pain and loves cooking.

The Handler: Exclusive to my marvel fan-fics, The Handler is a supervillain who can take over anyone's mind with a good punishment to their ass.

Sergeant Tarik Barrius: Exclusive to my Mass Effect fan-fics, Tarik is a Turian drill sergeant who often goes around dealing with crews with discipline problems.
