I've been a student of History for about 2 and a half years now. My focus of study is on the American Civil War though I enjoy any type of history but mainly pre WW1. Living in Arkansas and being surrounded by state and national forests and parks I have been fortunate to have had access to wildlife and nature on a grand scale. I started getting into the furry fandom in Junior High School after I found some amazing artwork online. I started drawing my own pieces and eventually combined it with my other love of history. Though I have been interested in the fandom since I was 14 I am still relatively new to the whole "furry" scene and some of the features of the fandom. For example I am still developing my own fursona, though I have made progress on one that I am very happy with and have already begun to write his story.

William Baldwin:

Though I love wild and untamed animals, I am a sucker for domesticated dogs. Dogs in general have been at the top of my list of favorite animals. So it was only natural that my first fursona would be a dog. It also was only natural my fursona would also live in a time period that I find fascinating: the age of sail.
William Baldwin is a male anthropomorphic 14 year old Grey Labrador. He is intelligent, shy, and caring to all those he meets. He lives in the fictional country of New Republic which is somewhat similar to early 19th-Century North America. He is the son of the prominent Baldwin family who have established a long naval tradition in their family name. Therefore at the age of 14 William is signed on to the New Republican Navy as a midshipman, or officer cadet. He is posted to the sloop of war Phoenix. It is aboard the Phoenix that he truly breaks out of his shell and discovers his element. He loves the freedom that the sea provides and the world it gives access to. While serving abroad he keeps journals on all of the cultures, wildlife and lands that he encounters that will eventually become prized publications across the world. He also keeps accounts of combat against renegade smugglers, the Janoan Empire and other seafaring dangers that fill homes and hearths with thrilling adventure novels. As an officer, he is fair but firm, eventually winning the respect of his subordinates through acts of mercy, discipline, and courage. His commander, Captain Samuel DuTont predicts his rise through the ranks as a brilliant naval officer.
