When not slaving over a piece of recalcitrant technology or redesigning a better one, you will usually find me, if you have the wherewithal, somewhere remote and off the beaten track... usually in one of our great Aussie deserts, relaxing with some good books by the campfire, with my swag pitched and my trusty old Cruisasaurus parked behind me. If not out there, I enjoy doing manual things like woodwork, metalwork, restoring old cars or helping friends fix their newer ones... basically any of the good-old hands on work which I learnt from my father and grandfather as I grew up.

Unfortunately this happens all too little nowadays as 80-100 hour work weeks and too much travel for said work are my lot... still, if I am travelling then my colleagues who have families get to stay home with them and that makes it seem a bit more worthwhile. This is also why I do not have as much time as I'd like to comment on much of the quality writing and artwork I see here or write journals or other such... maybe this year I'll try but not likely happening yet... as for social media, not likely now or anywhere in the future, if you ever see my name out there, it is not me.
