Going down to the swamps today (G)

I wanted to go three months ago but time didn't work out in my favor
today I'm finally going to the wetlands. Being a southerner in the Southeast United States means a lot of swampy pools and lush woods.
I have always loved these biomes. they feel so homey despite how gross they can be sometimes. I'd never step a foot in that water.
Watching dragonflies, frogs and fowl live amongst each other as fish swim below the muddy surface.
Lilly pads and algae float on as large wood surrounds the waters. Rocks and sand on the fringes. Boardwalks walled on all ends. Close enough to the ocean to see the currents absorb the still water into it's great blue expanse.
Driftwood lining these poorly sorted beach sands. Large leafy trees peeking over the freshwater.
It's beautiful
except for the mosquitos.
