♂ | 38 | Pansexual | Closed RelationshipHey guys, I'm Rin Elyran, and I was born to Czech, Slovak, German,
and Scotch-Irish descent. I was born in 1986, and I have an open and nondiscriminatory mind
and heart for all nationalities, religions, genders, and orientations; I judge people by their personalities alone.
Speaking of religion, I was baptized and confirmed as a Catholic, and while I like to share
my personal religious beliefs to any who are interested, I don't consider myself to be hardcore devout,
and I prefer not to force my beliefs on anyone.
Despite my account indicating that I've been a user since 2019, I have actually been a FurAffinity user since 2013.
My username was inspired by the late J.W. Rinzler (1962-2021), the author of several "making of" books
related to Star Wars and Indiana Jones who was also the inspiration for the character named "Rinzler", in the movie
Tron Legacy. "Elyran" is a portmanteau of "electronics" and the Lyran Commonwealth in the BattleTech universe.
My main fox character was born on December 13, 1977.
I have a strong passion for all things electronic, especially video game systems, vintage computers,
calculators, and audio equipment. When it comes to computing, I don't prefer one platform over another
(e.g. Windows over macOS, and vice versa). If the machine works, I'll happily use it, even without
an owner's manual, because it's a great opportunity to learn more about that particular computer
or operating system. I also play music on instruments like steel-stringed acoustic guitar, electric guitar,
lap dulcimer, keyboard/synthesizer, mandolin, electric violin, and drum machine.
I will never bore you with the behind-the-scenes technicalities of anything I post here (because I'm sure you probably won't care, anyhow),
but if you do care, I would love to answer any questions you might have
about the equipment I record with or the photo apps and editors I use, for example.
I am also a sucker for anything made by Sharp, Seiko, Sony, Casio, Canon, and Panasonic; in fact,
many of the modern and vintage electronics I collect were made by any of these six brands.
I do hope that you enjoy what I have to offer, and you're always welcome to thank me for leaving you a shout
on your profile, watching your profile, commenting on your work, and/or favoriting your work. :3
Regarding AI: I have a zero tolerance policy against all things AI,
be it pictures, music, stories, you name it.
Support your favorite real artists, musicians, and authors.
Let's end this reign of AI slop forever.
Drama, hate speech, and politics are NEVER welcome here (friends' views excepted).
If you don't like my rules, then you may leave.
(Just don't let the door hit you in the butt on your way out.) 😉

The Gales of November Remembered (G)
Monday, November 10th 2025 marked the 50th anniversary of the wreck of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald. In my opinion, there is no better narrative of the events leading up to the disaster and its aftermath than the song, "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald", from Gordon Lightfoot's 1976 album, Summertime Dream.
