Today is a significant date, the 79th anniversary of the day when the Soviet people proved their ability to survive and win in the most difficult situations, when death itself was on the doorstep.
The day when the Soviet Union and allies defeated fascism. 26.6 million Soviet citizens paid for this victory with their lives to give the world a chance at a brighter future, and I hope that in these difficult times we will remain as resilient as our ancestors were so that good times will come.
Congratulations on this day to all comrades whose valiant great-grandfathers defended their right to life during this bloody war
