Well, after much drama caused by those that weren't going to help, the name has been made official.
It is FoxiCon the Foxi no longer stands for anything.
RaverRabbit wanted the name changed to Fields of Furry Fun (which by its name makes me think it's a "just-another-fur-con" but outdoors. Held in the summer, I pity any fursuiters.)
Some of us wanted it to be Furries of Xenografted Iowa (FoXI for short), sort of a play on a word where different fandoms are brought into the furry convention, because in a general sense, Furries like things other than Furry things. Furs like Anime, sports, sci-fi, comic books, video games - the list goes on.

So each of us has given up our ideal names. Each person got something they wanted.
"Foxicon" while it may sound like a cop-out name is no more so than "anthrocon" "comiccon" "anime iowa" or any of the like names.

The hope is to get the con up by 2013, and it will take place likely in Waterloo. Close to anyone in Iowa without alienating anyone too far out near where other conventions are typically held. It might actually draw in furs from farther west!

I hope that more people can get interested in this! Because it's going to be more than Just Another Fur Con, it can be something people of other fandoms can enjoy, and maybe learn about the furry fandom in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere too!
