Welcome to Silver Muzzles!
This group was created for all the experienced or veteran furries in the fandom. The common term for people like myself and those who have been a part of this wonderful community for a long time is usually "grey muzzles", it is what the term started out as. However, seeing as how the expression has been twisted and turned to have several meanings and that most people connect it with those folks who are old enough to have actual grey hair we figured that another name was in order to seperate our group so there is no undue confusion.
As I mentioned this is a place for all of us who have been a part of the Furry Fandom for a long period of time but don't quite meet the apparent age restrictions to be called a "grey muzzle" according to most people. It was founded on the basis that being a "grey muzzle" (or in this case, silver muzzle) has nothing to do with age but how much time you've spent in the community, how much experience you have rather than how old you are. Seeing as how, in the end, age has nothing to do with how mature a person is or how long they've been in the fandom. Even so there will be an age restriction to the group but instead of it being 30 or over it's going to start at 20 since there are several people who found the fandom at a very young age and they shouldn't be excluded.
What is the group about?
* A place for seasoned furries to meet, set up events, get to know one another and hang out.
* Somewhere that will not exclude someone because of their "young" age.
* A place that values time spent in the fandom and the experience that brings.
* To discuss ideas, talk about some of the best and worst experiences or how you came to join the fandom in our journal comments.
* Find other seasoned furs around your area.
Membership:
To qualify for membership:
* Be 20 years old or more.
* Been a part of the fandom in some regard, be it on a forum, on SF, FA or another furry website for 10+ years (not lurking).
The need to send in a note giving details has been removed since the 10/4-2018, implementing the trust system instead. This in turn means that in case you fit the qualifications stated above feel more than free to add our icon on your profile page (using the command - :?SilverMuzzlesicon?: without the questionmarks). If you see someone using the icon without meeting the requirements please contact the group.
GROUP RULES:
* BE RESPECTFUL. The fandom is created by individuals from diverse backgrounds. Racism, sexism, homophobia will not be tolerated.
* Be courteous in discussions. Different people have different viewpoints, and you may not agree with everyone. Variety is the spice of life, and we make ourselves better by listening to those we don't agree with.
* No antagonism.
* If talking about an event or something that happened, leave names out of it.
* Commenting in journals is for members only.
Failure to follow these rules will result in:
First infraction: The comment will be deleted and the user will receive a warning.
Second infraction: The comment will be deleted and the user will receive a one-week block.
Third infraction: The comment will be deleted and the user will be permanently blocked.
Continued attempts to harass the group and its members will result in the filing of a harassment ticket with FA staff, and run the risk of suspension and/or banning from the website, depending on prior complaints.

Long Overdue
7 years agoHey everyone!
I figured that I'd mention a change in "policy" as it were. You no longer have to send in a note basically applying
for membership to the group anymore. Figured it'd make it more of a group, using the roster and everything to
bring people together.
But seeing as how I seem to be the only one of the "founders" invested in this to any degree I've decided to make
it easier by allowing anyone who meet the requirements to add the icon to their pages. Going by the "honor system"
so to speak that people are honest about their age and time spent in the fandom.
Suppose that's all for now, excuse the silence, I figured that the other people who signed up to found the group would
be far more active than they have been... which is zip. xD
Anyhow, now you know and thanks to everyone who has watched the group thus far! <3
I've also opted to remove two of the other founders as they did not even display their association to the group on
their private pages which was a stipulation for counting as a co-founder.
