Not going to Scotiacon (G)
3 months ago Unfortunately I am not going to attend my first furry convention as something serious had come up 😢
I'll explain with a trigger warning below, but maybe I'll attend some other year. This would also give me time to sort my money out and maybe see about adding stuff to my partial since I don't have paw gloves plus I want my fursuit head to have hair.
TW: Parent Deteriorating Health
As some people may know, back in 2024 I had lost my Mum and auntie (mother's sister) due to cancer, both in their early/mid 60s.
Unfortunately 2 years later, my Dad (61 this year) now has tumours in his brain and will need full time care as his health is going down quick.
I am not going to attend Scotiacon as I want to try spend more time with my Dad with what time we have left.
This will be an extremely difficult time for me due to knowing Dad's time will come soon but also me trying to learn all the responsibilities, which I can honestly say I do not feel confident in. However I know my friends and family will all help and be there for us ❤️
2026 had barely started and it sucks already! And exact same time of year with my own mother when she found out she was dying, which hits extra harder 💔
