So many so-called royals and nobles spend these darkening days exposing their graceful forms, clad in naught more than a few conveniently placed ribbons and bows. But is that truly becoming of those of such high status? After all, any mere groundling can afford a few scant lengths of ribbon. However, only those of us upon the stage of nobility may don the most ornate of dresses. Our clothes, as ourselves, should exemplify the finest life has to offer. Our garb may be woven from the purest of silks and the most delicate and intricate of laces. It may be crafted by the most skilled tailors and by them tailored exactly to our specifications so that others may only futilely try to ape our radiance, yet never truly achieve it. We may do these things simply because we are gifted, because we, by our good breeding, have been graced with affluence. And it is my belief that because we are gifted, that it is our duty to make use of our gift for it is what separates us from the droves of lesser men, who wait, eager to usurp our fortune the moment we show weakness.
