I love DnD, here's some edgy inspiration for my Eldritch Rogue Sona...
Solanine:
An assassin by trade, she is decended from an ancient clan of mystics. Kidnapped as a child by a foreign nation she was used as an experiment in dark rituals to open portals between this world and one of unspeakable horror. By sheer luck she managed to escape, but the encounter left her warped and unstable. Her blood turned black and her connection to the infernal planes never quite severed. Wandering the land a broken, confused and tortured child, she was found by the Grandmaster of a place called Sanctuary. He saw her for the strength she nurtured and so he took her in, teaching her the ancient ways of the assassin. Now, her body is hers again, covered in sacred runes that augment her natural magics and bind the black blood within her. She lives her life unrestrained by the bonds of those that would condemn her, yet she still has a greater part to play, for the wheels of the world keep on turning; and those with formidable power will forever be compelled to heed its call.
