There's not a whole lot that is unique about me. The two qualities that seem to shine are my empathy and my dedication to others. Selfishness and selflessness are the yin and yang of existence. Do we sacrifice for others or do we strive for ourselves? Excessive selflessness is dangerous to one's self though, as I can attest. I can't take a step without staring at the ground, worried I will crush a living creature. I always wear black. I spend a great deal of time caring about others and the little time I find for myself usually degenerates into drunkeness as a way to compensate. I'm studying to become a paramedic so that I can save more lives, a career which, I am told, can take a hell of a toll on someone. Nevertheless this is what I wish to dedicate my life to.

People look at me strangely when I use the plastic that is around my pack of cigarettes to save a fly stuck in a restaraunt window, wonder if I'm retarded as they see me walking eratically with my head down to avoid stepping on something. I pull over and get out of my car when I see a stray dog, risking serious injury or death. I hate swimming pools. They are evil.

Anyway, in my spare time aside from drinking I like to write grim fiction and watch sad movies. Yeah, I love to have fun don't I? Not depressed or anything though. You have to stare into the void to know what the light is truly like.
