Greetings, traveler!
Welcome to Solguard. An account for all things related to my stories and WIP novels.
"But, what does Solguard mean, you raving lunatic?" I hear you ask. Fret not, i'll gladly explain.
Solguard is an amalgamation of my two fantasy settings: Solania and Wyrmguard. They have dragons in both configurations- anthro and feral, and a healthy dose of magic to go with them.
Solania is a dungeonpunk and pseudo-steampunk setting that a whole host of races call home. There's your staples, dwarves, elves and humans, but also a range of anthro races. And last, but not least, dragons. (Wyrms, as i call them).
In Solania, an age of peace and co-operation reigns over the races of the world after defeating a legion of fanatics called The Veil. The cult instigated a divisive war, pitting all Solania's races against each other, sewing chaos and death, harvesting the souls for The Veiled One; eldritch being and Veil overlord to consume.
With The Veil driven into the shadows, the world is looking to the future. But even with the cult's master sealed away, The Veil are determined to plunge Solania back into destruction in The Veiled One's name. It is up to the good races to ensure that doesn't happen.
Wyrmguard is an island kingdom in a world of kobolds and anthro dragons. This a typical medieval fantasy setting, with intrigue, romance and war.
The central conflict revolves around Wyrmguard and Drakenland- opposing dragon kingdoms at war over the rights and freedoms of kobolds. Wyrmguard, led by King Arathor believe their dimunitive counterparts deserve to be treated as equals. But King Quaketail of Drakenland refuses to see the race as nothing but slaves to serve their dragon betters.
This series will be called The Wyrmguardian Saga and it will focus on two characters; Celestie and King Arathor.
Celestie is a young, kobold woman freed from a Drakenland mining camp off the coast of Wyrmguard. Beaten, abused and with no family, she arrives in the kingdom of her liberators, lost and alone. After being rescued by the King himself, Celestie finds herself in love with him, despite him having a Queen. Celestie hopes to work in the castle just to feel safe and in the presence of the dragon she admires.
King Arathor is a wise one, despite only being thirty years of age. Losing his father and brothers in the countless skirmishes with Drakenland, Arathor strives to end the ceaseless fighting peacefully. A highly skilled warrior, Arathor believes in restraint over force, seeking to resolve conflicts without bloodshed. But when a letter of peace from Drakenland arrives, Arathor may just have the resolution he's been looking for. Is it too good to be true, though?
Be sure to keep an eye on this page for art relating to these tales in the future, and i hope you enjoy the journey through the creative process with me.
Feel free to ask me anything about my stories, characters and other random things, if you so desire.
