[What is Sugar U? ]

This is a comic about a smart, young girl who applied to this
prestigious school, secluded deep within the mountains for apt
reason, Sugar University has a 2% acceptance rate! They will
only teach those with the deepest ambition to study science,
humanity, and religion, to better themselves and the social
complexities of humanity for the world.

She had no money, but was very smart, and passed every test
they had placed in front of her. She was accepted for her
ambitiousness and determination to improve on her creativity
and master skills that apply!!

Sounds like a usual school girl story, doesn't it?

This University has a secret, of course!

How do people here succeed? Why is this school so gifted?
Why are so many virtuosos and geniuses born from this school?

After acceptance, students are brought to the school to live and
learn during every breath of their wake. Whatever you study here,
you will master. They believe in the 10,000 hour rule and will push
students to it. (do something for 10,000 hours and you will master it).
There are two ways to do so; years upon years of practice,
or, seek a little help.......

The University was established around the idea that humans
can evolve and grow beyond what nature had planned for them by
administering medicines to influence our own DNA. This is called
Neo-Evolution. The Lyra Ash Serum in this comic promotes this
idea and is the tool to make it happen. Made from the flower fruit
of this very unique and rare tree (only found in the mountains and
around campus) researchers who study at the University can
condense its' contents (along with other chemicals) into a rich,

Upon injecting the serum into the subject, he or she will feel sick,
then the body will or will not take. If it does, the subject will have
symptoms such as better memory, stronger muscles, faster thinking,
faster learning. 10k hours will be reduced 50% or more, making way
for a younger, more talented human being.

Since it is just an experiment, there are some students that have
been introduced to the serum, do not take. They continue to be sick
with flu like symptoms, and are sent home as just that...
without memory of what happened.

Originally, the school was named Lyra Ash & Verdon University,
named after it's age old founder and discovery of the Lyra tree.
The name had changed upon discovering a very interesting and keen
symptom among the students of this generation's students:

The students each had a unique sugary taste.

A particular group have developed a distinct taste in the
saliva and skin. And, as the story will progress, a professor
will discover it is not just a kiss that tastes like orange candy...
but more below. It's discovery changed the research project's focus,
to discovering why this is so, and what they can do to pinpoint the
anomaly and replicate it!!

Lots and lots of testing will have to be done....

This story line will be merged along with the main character Sunny,
who is unsure about these changes. What does she really want in life?
Love, or scholarship? Is this a sweet situation or will it all just end up sour for her...

I really hope you all will enjoy this comic and it's concept.
I'll be drawing up character concept sketches and the school's scenes for the
next coming weeks, then, finally, the comic itself will emerge!!
