Update on my Life (circa 1/2024):
Currently working full time remote with my consulting firm. Traveling a lot in my converted schoolbus turned RV. Trying to figure out a con loop for this year, so I can hit up a bunch! Other than that I am based in the tristate area and am trying to rediscover the fandom here because I've been away from the north east for 7 years!

Ongoing list of simply good anthro books.
10 years agoOver the past three years I have struggled to find good anthropomorphic Fiction.
This Journal is going to contain a run-on list of Novels I have read and would consider to be the best that the community has to offer. In addition will be links or notes as to how/where I purchased or otherwise legally attained each copy.
I feel that it is unbeknownst to most within the Anthro sub-culture, that only a fraction of quality publications are published/sold through the usual furry/anthro vendors like Furplanet, sofawolf, etc. When in fact, many of the greatest treasures are to be found through more traditional indie publication houses or sold independently by the authors themselves.
In fact, my utmost favorite anthro novels, the tales which enrapture the heart, blast through our emotional resolves as we weep in sorrow and which lift our spirits to howl in joy!....have never seen the virtual shelves of furplanet and the like.
Therefore I believe that 95% of the community has yet to discover the most treasured gems awaiting their vivid, receptive imaginations.
This is all fine and dandy, but perhaps someone reading this journal wants to know what kind of stories I would call
"The best the community has to offer..."
My general definition of such titles is as follows:
"When a novel has the capability to loosen the readers ties to reality, thrusting their imagination into connecting, and sharing the experiences that the characters go through as the tale flickers before their eyes...The captivated reader, their heart thrumming with the very emotions to which the author intended the book characters to feel, steals the minds and spirit away from its usual reality for just those tiny moments when all it may feel is that which the words depict in our minds eye."
This is a good book to me, and I yearn for the imprint each dutifully leaves on my spirit.
Therefore I have made it a small quest of mine to find these rarest of tales, each adding its unique mark upon me, like a mosaic with every tile making the total image that much more complete.
This list is primarily for myself to keep a written record, but if it even allows one other individual to share in the experiences these books provide then I will be overjoyous and the effort will have been 100% worth it.
For a more generalized, not-so-cryptic definition of what you will find in this list please see the bullet-points below.
The books in this list follow these guidelines:
-Never Smut
-Primarily straight romance
-Contain tasteful adult themes (these are not children's books)
-Typically are NOT rated "R" (no explicit scenes), Otherwise I will mark them - "R"
-Original plot lines
-May be light or heavy (I love both, but I feel that heavier novels are simply superior by principle)
-Common themes: Romance, struggle for survival, good vs. evil, morality, transhumanism, internal struggle
-Typically have elements of intrigue, mystery, action, scifi/fantasy, drama, romance, exploration, suspense
-Could be set in: future/fantasy/present/past/alternate universe
If you want details about a book please leave a comment, or PM me if you prefer anonymity/privacy.
Lastly, I implore you do not judge any of these books by their covers or any initial preconceptions you might generate.
as the saying goes... "Don't judge a book by its cover"
And now finally!!! Heres the list:
(The list is divided by author, with each respective novel attached to its author)

A few notes:
This series is by a landslide my favorite of all time (so far). I don't want to say much more, just trust me when I say that this series will not leave you wanting. Take everything I have said about a good book in the above paragraphs and apply it to this book, multiply it by 2 and you still cannot fathom how powerful these books are, a true joy.
2)
Author: Ted R. Blasingame
Author's Website: http://trblasingame.weebly.com/
The author is on permanent medical hiatus after writing for 30+ years and although he has not stopped writing entirely, he is no longer publishing regular content. Nonetheless his published books are breathtaking, I have not read them all. Each will be listed here as I read it.
The author has made all of his books FREE in .epub (universal) and .mobi (kindle) versions through his website.
Below are his books I have read and approve of thus far:
Book 1) "Sunset of Furmankind"
-A true pleasure to read, and in my top 5 books of all time, this story contains many of the elements listed above, and delves the reader into another "what-if," scenario. This compelling storyline will sweep you off your feet!...or paws...if you ally your desires and strength with furmankind. The path this tale weaves down is pitted with sudden cliff-hangers and and epic highs, it'll leave you breath-less, cringing in the moment as you relate wholeheartedly with the characters. You'll never expect where this one goes and it keeps you guessing the whole ride.
Book 2) "Second Chance"
-Another tale from the brilliantly minded Mr.Blasingame, this one written on the last rays of light as dusk settled on Mr.Blasingame's writing career. No less pleasureable, albeit a bit shorter, the novel is no less a true knockout. A virtual clone to its predessor in taste and form, this one will have you on the edge of your seat through the action-packed, and emotionally volitile storyline whose outcome is shrouded in mystery until the very end. Be prepared for a tear-jerker and maybe some warm fuzzy feelings too. I loved this book, yet despite its excellence it left me wanting more, not because it was left-wanting (if you follow my logic), but because it was so fulfilling I wished it not end. Alas, the last page was a mixed bag of emotions for me, just for this reason. Or so I thought until...
BUT DON'T FRET! because Mr.Blasingame graced us with one last crown-jewel...of sorts! (see below)
Book 3) "Redemption" By karamales!
A FANFIC which is a full length novel whose quality is comparable to the originals and is/was endorsed by the author himself, with the Fanfiction hosted on his website!! FREE to download!! (see link below)
I am still reading this book at the moment, but I can say that it has brought tears to my eyes, happy tears. I can admit that! Tears having nothing to do with masculinity and I feel that a man who can tear up just proves that he can be sensitive to others. Don't judge me and no, I'm not a push-over! But please, ignore my scribbles, this journal is comprised solely from the cascade of my rambling mind. Wow I have gone off-track, and this all sounds so boring, maybe I'll through in some explatives to spice it up!
"This book was Bitc...n! oh wait, I can't use those words...for young-uns frequent this site. I most certainly won't sully their spirits with langauge. Oh..wait..thats right, I remember, 1/2 of the furry subculture population the mental maturity of an orangutan, too late..
I have no idea what happened in that above paragraph, what was I writing...getting at? I dunno. ANYWAY, here is the download link to the third book:

I really with I could thank this self-less soul, whom wrote an entire book for free. A damn good one at that. Now, this story is filling that void left by the second novel when it left me wishing it would have never ended. I am so thankful that someone wrote more content in the same amazing universe.
I'll be back momentarily, will update this journal within the next few hours(circa 4/19). I have a lot more books than just these! But I don't have infinite freetime.
