out of work and getting desperate

i've been out of work for a month now and while I thought i'd be able to find something by now I haven't found anything more than a few scams. I've applied to several places already and they either aren't hiring or have gone with other candidates. The scammers make up about 80% of applications though, where they call you and tell you that they can get you hired on but you have to pay them, or the trucking companies who insist that you need to lease a new truck through them in order to work for them. This is craziness I tell you.
I know that i'm not useless, but I sure feel that way. If anyone has any leads for a job for me i'd be happy to entertain them.
I just pray the savings I have lasts.. state said i'm ineligible for unemployment or health insurance assistance. If I don't get anything soon I'm gonna be in serious trouble financially.
