What about DeviantArt (should I just leave?)
I see more and more Youtube videos about this, DeviantArt is going completely rogue about AI art. I don't think they even care about the community they literally built on this website. I tried to make comments on official posts from the development team. Like, when Eclipse came : I was in the camp of the « Let them cook » team. But I'm pretty such none of the things everybody wanted was implemented, lol. Also, th website is bloated... not really interesting. It feels boring. Like FA is not the greatest, but at least it is « barebone ».
So now, with their complacency with AI tech giants, I guess I should just leave? Though, it feels really weird. That was pretty much my entry point to Art (and the furry fandom, etc). I think I created my account in like 2013? It's been a long time! I was in high school (like 16 years old?). I have so much art there, it would take ages to just download everything.
AI art is... interesting. What I like about AI art is that, it doesn't really have any value. You can't sell an AI piece without people being like : « Oh... you didn't do it... like... I could do it... why would I buy this to you? » or else, it means the artist is lying to you! « Nahhh bro... trust me... I put so much efforts in those prompts! GAAAAAAAAHH! ». So I'm glad about AI art. It gives value to what artists do, in some sense. But! It doesn't excuse wht DA is doing, lol. Training their generative tools on my art? (Okay, I'm no the best but HEY). Feels so scummy. Same for Twitter. I felt like screaming in an empty void lol. And Elon said he would train Grok on those image... so... back to square one.
But... you know, time change and I should really find a niche somewhere else. I like FA, but there must be something better. I heard of Cara... but it's mostly for mobile...
You know, may be Youtube, Picarto, Discord Reddit are the way. Vgen? What are your thoughts?
